Meeting & Program Schedule For 2008

The Cranberry Township Historical Society Board of Directors meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM, unless a program is scheduled, in which case the program will generally take place on a Sunday to be announced pending release of the Steeler schedule. Effective for 2008 and after the January 2008 meeting, the meeting date will change to the 4th Tuesday at 7:00 PM. All meetings and programs take place at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center unless otherwise indicated. Below is our meeting schedule for 2008.

Sat Feb 2, 2008 Board Schoolhouse Special 11:00 AM Meeting of the board to preview a program by member Joyce Owens.
Sun Feb 17, 2008 Program /Annual Meeting Council Chambers "An Historical Gazetteer of Butler County, Pennsylvania" presented by Luanne Eisler at 2:00 PM. Luanne had to cancel due to an injury and will be rescheduled. Check back for a new program date. Past President Bev Magill was honored by the Historical Society membership with an engraved tray that was hand made by Wendell August Forge of Grove City, PA. Current CTHS President, Roy Wagner, whipped together a last minute PowerPoint presentation on the history of the US Flag for those that showed up for Luanne's presentation. The program substitution, originally intended for completion in the Fall of 2008, was well received by those who attended.
Tue Mar 25, 2008 Board Room 202 John Trant, Cranberry Township Chief Strategic Planning Officer, and staff met with the board to discuss the Cranberry Plan and what efforts can be taken to preserve history.

Sat Jul 12, 2008 Booth Cranberry Park Please visit us at our booth on Community Day. Note that Community Days are July 11 and 12. Check back later for an update on our participation in this event.
Tue Jul 24, 2008 Board --- There will be no meeting this month on the fourth Tuesday since we will be in the park for Community Days.
Sun Aug 24, 2008 Booth Franklin Park Please visit us at our booth at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Brandt School Road in Franklin Park for dedication of a PHMC historical marker for the Kuskusky Path.

Sun Sep 14, 2008 Program / General Meeting Plains Church (Basement) Dr. Thomas Hannon will present a History of Cemetery's at 2pm followed by a tour of Plains Church Cemetery weather permitting.

Sun Nov 2, 2008 Program / General Meeting Council Chambers Genealogist Luanne Eisler will present "An Historical Gazeteer of Butler County, PA" at 2pm.
